Maryse Nassif is the brainchild behind 'Bijou de Pied', a brand she started almost 10 years ago.
Her story is both endearing and inspiring as she found her way into the shoe industry and created a niche for sexy, original and sometimes provocative designs.

It all began when Maryse decorated one of the pairs of sandals she was wearing, which all her friends instantly loved!
What began as a fun pair she created for herself soon developed into 50 then 100 pairs in only two years.

Flowers, are at the center of Maryse's world, she is constantly reinventing her styles to create feminine, provocative yet subtle footwear.

In complete synergy with herself, the designer creates and executes the ideas she has with flair and gusto. Inspiration comes from the least expected places, as Maryse is inspired by everything around her: nature, her travels and the people in her life.
Her open and ingenious personality allows her to create more than 100 styles a year, using the finest materials: beads, crystals, linen, organza, pearls & velvet.

Entirely hand made, each style combines comfort, sophistication and originality. Some pairs can take on average 8 hours to be made, with the most sophisticated and intricate beading-techniques that the artist teaches to the workers in her atelier.

'Bijou de Pied' is the fruit of passion, patience and love; it is the essence of femininity. 'Bijou de Pied' embodies one woman's love of shoes, passion for design and last but not least her will to help other people.

In fact, Bijou de Pied plays an important role in providing work for local communities helping people with disabilities by creating work opportunities for the underprivileged.
